30 Cannon Street

30 Cannon Street stands prominently in the wedge of Cannon Street and Queen Victoria Street near St Paul’s Cathedral. Designed in 1977 for Credit Lyonnais by Whinney Son & Austen Hall it has been an iconic presence, gaining Grade II listing in 2015.

In 2013 Dlvendahl Martin Architects undertook a feasibility study to assess the development potential of the building with an eye on prolonging its lifespan. The project eventually evolved into a major refurbishment internally, with an extension of the 5th floor and extensive work to form a roof garden.

In 2013 Callidus Surveys were engaged to undertake the measured survey of the curving and leaning facades in elevation and section, as well as internal layouts, major services and structure. Over the course of the project, Callidus undertook surveys at Basement, lower ground, ground, second, third, fifth floors and roof.

Today, 30 Cannon Street stands gleaming, shod in new windows top to bottom whilst remaining sympathetic to its original architectural style in geometry, materiality and colour. Internally, the spaces have been refurbished to  a standard befitting its stature and location, creating high-quality office space fit for the future.
